This is a view from in front of our cottage in Mackinaw City. All the years of looking out at the water has helped to inspire us to
to explore more of our country's waterways.

North Palm Beach to Ft Pierce

Saturday morning Mary had an early appointment for a real hair cut and color and John needed to check out the West Marine so off we went on our bikes. Two hours later and without much hair left we went to Publix and stored up on some fresh produce. We had dinner on board,as John had a taste for hamburgers.

Sunday was spent doing laundry, pedicure, and another trip to Publix. It is difficult to carry all of the groceries on the bikes, even with the saddle carrier and a back pack. Of course John forgot the twins B-Day cards and we had to make a second trip. We were treated to home made bean soup and corn bread for dinner, sitting out on the docks. Thank you Ginny and Craig, what a treat that was.

Farewell dinner for Sid and Evalyn

Monday was a great travel day and we all got underway around 8:30. Our friends Sid and Evalyn went most of the way with us but since they will be leaving Something Special for two weeks and going home, they had picked out another marina to leave their boat at. So we were sad to say our good byes, but we are hoping to meet up with them again along the waterways. Florida has some beautiful homes and we were able to take a few pictures of some of them. The best news is that along the way we encountered our dolphin friends again. They are amazing to watch.

Along with Ginny and Craig we traveled on a little further to Jensen Beach for the evening. We then enjoyed catching up with Kate and Greg from Grianan who have a condo not far from the marina. We also enjoyed meeting two of there friends, Jan and Bob who were quite knowledgable about the ICW and the East coast. Thank you for a great evening.

Tuesday the water pump kept pulsing, after a tip from Craig John located the problem. The hot water heater T&P valve was leaking. We were only going to Ft. Pierce and there was a West Marine close to the marina. Unfortunately, they didn't have the part. We were on loaner bikes which were not the best. So John got one of the bikes down and rode the couple of miles into town and found the part. He also found out we should have stayed a the municipal marina right in the downtown area. Something to remember when picking future marina's.

John found some trains on his bike ride that he thought the "boys" would like.
Anyway the new valve is installed all the water is cleaned up and we are off to the pool for a quick dip before we have a command performance from Mr. Owen to SKYPE and sing him happy birthday. Kelly says this was totally his idea, my how they grow up fast. We can't believe he is 5 already. Have we said the worst thing about the Loop is missing the grandkids.

Bye for now,

Mary and John

We miss you guys, too!! I wonder if you will ever readjust to non-summer weather, you all look so sunshine and tan in the photos. Hoping to go catch some sunshine of our own over Spring Break, away from our very snowy morning here in PC. Love to you both, KJ
