This is a view from in front of our cottage in Mackinaw City. All the years of looking out at the water has helped to inspire us to
to explore more of our country's waterways.

Ft. Pierce to New Smyrna

Wednesday we headed up to Vero Beach, it was such a short ride that there were people still eating breakfast on their boats  when we arrived.  We took a bus to the beach and had lunch and then to town for some re provisioning.

We couldn't tell if one was pushing or the other towing.

The surf was odd, perfectly calm out past it yet every 20 seconds or so there would be a huge wave.

Thursday we moved up to Melbourne Marina with Brown Eyed Girl.  The marina was so/so but we had a nice walk through town which was doing reasonably well.   Even got some Kilwin's ice cream.

Friday along with Brown eyed Girl we went cruised on to Coco.  It was quite windy upon or arrival.  We enjoyed walking around the town and had a great wood fired Pizza dinner in a little cafe.

This was a neat hardware store that had everything.

We rented a car and along with Craig and Ginny and went to EPCOT on Saturday.  After seeing some of the sights at EPCOT and World Showcase we went for a monorail tour of the resorts and Magic Kingdom.  We then decided to head back to Coco Village and had dinner at the Black Tulip.  The food was very good and prices were reasonable.  On Sunday we headed over to the  Kennedy Space Center,  we had signed up for a special tour that took you to the launch sights and into the Vehicle Assembly Building.  Which was where the space shuttle was coupled with it's booster rockets and prepped for launch.  We were able to see the shuttle Discovery that was being prepared for it's move to the Smithsonian.  We were amazed at how much land  the Kennedy Space Center has.  Most of it is a wildlife refuge second in Florida only to  the Everglades.  Everyone enjoyed both road trips.

An original Apollo Command Capsule, 14 I think.

Monday we continued north to New Smyrna Beach.  We saw lots of manatees along the way.  As we were washing the boat who should arrive but,  John & Mary (the fast ones) from Mary Frances.  They are from our home marina in Mackinaw City, we hadn’t seen them since Key West.  It was nice catching up.  We have abandoned the no travel on weekends and will leave here at O-Dark 30 tomorrow and head to Palm Coast which is a 50 mile run.  We will then have a short run to St. Augustine on Wednesday where will stay for two possibly three days.

Good Night,

John & Mary
