We stopped back at Joe Wheeler after two long days of returning from Chattanooga. Our traveling partner is a boat named Kadadi who we first met at Grand Harbor before the Rendezvous. They are four very lovely Canadians. It's sure different here at Joe Wheeler State Park, while we are not alone there are only a handful of boats here compared to the marina being completly filled during the Rendezvous. We did 85 miles Monday, staying at Goose Pond and 93 Tuesday to Joe Wheeler. Arrived at about 6:30 just after the sun had set at 6:05. It was amazing how quickly it became dark. We were thankful to have been in the harbor before. Ran in to NautiNell and Sweet Pea at Goose Pond, we had anchored with them in the Ohio and lower Tennessee river's. Nice to see them once again. NautiNell was having some engine problems and was awaiting some parts.

Our first palm tree, at Goose Pond Colony Marina. |
Our plans for Wednesday were to get back to the Grand Harbor Marina area on Pickwick Lake. Our boat buddies on Southern Belle were waiting for us to rejoin them on Thursday, so if we get there Wednesday it will be a surprise. Once at Grand Harbor we need to do some provisioning plus John will need to change the oil and fuel filters on Passport before departing down the Tenn-Tom Waterway, it is 450 miles long and will get us to Mobile Bay.

We were able to surprise our friends, Kerm and Chris by arriving a day earlier than planned and joined them at their anchorage in Panther Creek on Wednesday afternoon.

On Thursday morning we awoke to a cold and rainy day, both Passport and Southern Belle came into Grand Harbor Marina where we are now. Chris has come down with a bout of Shingles and needs to see a doctor, so Mary and her got the courtesy car and were off to Savannah, TN. John did the oil and fuel filter changes on the engine and transmission.

What exactly are Passport and Southern Belle up to? |
Friday Chris was still not 100% plus it was cold and misty so we decided to wait until Saturday to start down the Tenn-Tom. We needed propane and a few more items, we got the courtesy car and went into Savannah again. Once we were back at the afternoon a large yacht came in with an un enclosed steering station. The two operators were wearing full face masks and camouflage clothing and looked like a couple of terrorists. It turns out he was a baseball player taking his boat back to Palm Beach.
