Tuesday as we were leaving Southport who should be chugging along none other than Brown Eyed Girl. We traveled together to Surf City. We had very different types of water to travel on. A large open river, Cape River which continues on 12 miles from the ocean to a large seaport. Then a small cut that connected us to the ICW channel. Once there we encountered some of the skinniest water we have had on the ICW, lots of mud banks on either side of the channel. We even touched bottom at one point looking for the deepest part of the channel. Nothing serious just churned up a bit of mud.

Have not passed one of these for awhile. |

This was part of park, not sure how much longer it will be there. |

How many houses can say they have a giraffe in the front yard. |

Only had to wait 15 minutes for the bridge to open. |
Once we were tied up and the boat cleaned off we walked over to the beach. It was quite rough and we were glad to have traveled on the “inside”. We took a long walk on the beach, hit a few shops and found some needed repair parts.

We don't have piers like this in Michigan. |
Dinner tonight onboard was
some fresh shrimp we purchased at local dock.
The trivia answer is Jan and
Dean and the were going to Surf City because the girls there were "two to
one". John thinks the song came out in 63, possibly 64 (from memory, not Google). Not sure if this is the same Surf
City they were singing about, but there were lots of girls on the beach (not that John noticed).
Good Night All,
John & Mary
