TSW here we come. |
Karma in front of us and Texas True in back. We felt like a Passport sandwich. |
Lots of the lock gates as well as the valves are still operated by hand. |
Flood control gates tha can be set into the walls if needed. |
An abandon railroad swing bridge. |
This was a double lock you went from one right into the other 24' lift each time. |
Wednesday we were in search for a little spring that had broken off of the shower door so we decided to walk to the hardware store. After the forth store and many kilometers later we did find what we needed along with a stop at the Chocolate Factory Outlet Store and the local grocery. All in all a relaxing day after so many locks yesterday. Tomorrow we plan on heading to Hastings so we will travel about 20 miles and do 6 locks. Sounds a little easier than Tuesday.
Passport, Karma & The Zone |
Passport from across the river. |
The person who designed the "toonie" (which is a two dollar coin) was from Campbellford. |
Mary chose not to cross the bridge, John thought the views were fantastic. |
Another sign you don't see every day. |
A new olympic sport? |
The water leading to Rainey falss is very low. |
A nice house we came across. |
Sign seen at the chocolate factory, what exactly is in chocolate? |
A couple of tall church steeples. |
There are quite a few boats here so we will all need to time our departure so as not to bunch up at the locks. John was able to get the pics in we are now caught up with the blog.

We are enjoying hearing your stories and finding what is ahead of us. We left Raydiance in Kingston today and tonight we are at a b and b in Vermont enroute to a niece's wedding in Maine. We laughed that in 5 hours we went from Kingston to Vermont by car while it took us 3 and 1/2 weeks by boat! We will return to Kingston on the 17th and start toward the Trent-Severn then. We will keep an eye on your blog to see what we should not miss!
