This is a view from in front of our cottage in Mackinaw City. All the years of looking out at the water has helped to inspire us to
to explore more of our country's waterways.

Gulf Port, Sarasota & Dolphins

We arrived back in Florida on New Years Day and rented a car for a couple of days.  The boat looked great after the work done at  Pittman while we were away.  We stocked up on supplies and did laundry while having a car. We were able to do some sight seeing in Dundeine a town that is alittle south of Tarpon Springs.  It was fun to see a town that we would not have seen if we did not have a car.   Kerm picked us up at the airport when we had to return the car.  That was a nice treat, both in seeing Kerm and not having to take a cab back to the boat. Thank you so much Kerm!!

We Left Tarpon Springs on Tuesday with the plan to get to St. Petersburg, as the day progressed we decided to cut it short and went in to Gulf Port Marina instead.   On Thursday we moved to Sarasota.  Both days were great cruising with lots of dolphin and very calm waters.  Why aren't all days calm?    We are at Marina Jack and have decided to stay through Saturday.  It is a very nice marina even if it is pricey.   Seabiscuit is docked next door, Bill and Pam are fellow Loopers who we last saw in Apalachicola, we also saw Ken from 20 Bucks.  Ken and Pat attended the Thanksgiving Day luncheon.  It is good to see some fellow Loopers again.   As we traveled through Sarasota Bay we were hailed by Dan who is Chris and Kerm's son, (our buddy boat  Southern Belle).  He and friend Carrie were traveling back from a week trip to the Keys.  Its a small world to run into them and we were just thinking of them when he called.

Mary got a lot of good shots of all the dolphins we saw over the past couple of days.

Name that boat.

This doesn't look like the Mackinac Bridge.
