This is a view from in front of our cottage in Mackinaw City. All the years of looking out at the water has helped to inspire us to
to explore more of our country's waterways.

We Did It
We now own the boat, almost! The preliminary survey last weekend went well, no items of concern. We drove up to Marquette and went through the boat with a fine tooth comb on Wednesday and today we dropped off the check with the broker. We still need to have a sea trial / systems test which will happen on May 18th when we take possession. The current owner is very meticulous and organized so we feel there will not be any problems. After the sea trial and all the paper work is completed we will spend Thursday to get all of our equipment on board and familiarize ourselves with the boat. Our plan is to depart for Mack City on Friday morning, weather permitting, as Mary has reminded me numerous times. Dave, the present owner said we can make it back in two days, we plan to take it easy and are allowing three or four.

Good news! Excited to hear the boat is in the water as well, and the trip is coming together.
Hope the sea trial goes as planned tomorrow! Owen is excited to hear that you are getting your new boat and he can't wait to drive it!!
